Alice's Photo Album- Page 2

This photo is labeled "Grandma Smith." If I know my family tree, this is Alice's mother-in-law. Alice married Elwood Grant Smith in December, 1924, so this photo must date from the early 1920s. I heard few stories about this Grandma Smith from Alice or from my father--other than she was a severe woman whose Protestant nature drove her husband to live by himself in a shack in the woods. Elwood G. would take young Elwood J. to visit his father. From what I can tell, they sat together in stony but manly silence.

Grandma Smith seems perfectly cheerful in the photo below.
